My story — my why?
The reason i do what i do
One of the reasons photography means so much to me comes from a deeply personal experience.
Years ago, my family and I were on vacation at the beach and decided to schedule a family photo session. It had rained most of the day, and the weather was far from ideal. My mom wasn’t sure it was worth going through with it, but my dad gently insisted, saying, “We’re going to regret it if we don’t take these photos.” So we did.
Just two days later, on July 24, 2012, my little brother passed away unexpectedly.
Those images became more than just photographs—they became something we could hold onto in a time of unimaginable loss. They captured a moment we didn’t know would be one of our last together as a complete family.
That experience is why I do what I do.
I believe photography is more than posing and perfect lighting—it’s preserving the moments you don’t realize will matter most. It’s about freezing time, holding onto love, and giving families something they can return to for years to come.
Every session I photograph is approached with that same understanding: these moments are meaningful, and they deserve to be remembered.

Where did the name come from?
In 2021, while taking a photography class, I was given an assignment to create a name and logo for my brand. At first, I tried to incorporate my own name, but nothing felt quite right.
So I took a step back and thought about what truly mattered to me—what inspired me.
That’s when I thought of my little brother.
The name “Bluej” came to me as something simple, yet deeply meaningful: “blue” represents his beautiful eyes, and the “j” stands for his name, Jace.
What started as a class assignment quickly became something much more personal. My business name is not only a reflection of my work, but also a tribute that I carry with me in everything I create.
It’s a name I will always hold close to my heart.
